1. When one is despised, feared, ostracized or taken advantage of by co-workers and managers. This results in getting fired, being overlooked for a promotion, being cut out of the loop where vital information is exchanged, losing employees, being made to be a scapegoat or a victim of gossip — you name it.
2. When one has lost passion, interest and zeal for one’s work or company. This is a sign that it’s time for change, yet the fear of loss of income, lack of clarity on what’s next, and the idea of career reinvention is overwhelming.
My name is Jackie Kellso and my company focuses on the development of the evolving individual; the person who wants to change-up the status quo; who is ready to release recurring patterns that are circular, that lead nowhere and are predictable, for ones that are expansive; for the individual who is ready to rise to higher levels of self-awareness, self-management and leadership of others.
Corporate navigation can be murky when one is looking for allies. There’s no business I know of that isn’t run by people. By taking full responsibility for how we communicate, listen, interact and role-model the behaviors we want to see in others, we become the leaders we most admire.
As examples, here are just two developmental areas that can make or break leaders:
1. Self-Confidence — Our beliefs about ourselves are scarily evident to others in the way that we interact. A low self-esteem shows regardless of how well we think we’re covering it up. Body language, tone of voice and choice of words are reflections of expertise, assertiveness and ability to lead. Having congruence between all three leaves the right impressions with others.
2. Communication — Two types. 1. The “hard” skills of presenting, leading meetings, being clear and concise, the ability to persuade, the underlying tone in written correspondence. 2. The “soft” skills of building rapport, gaining cooperation, motivating and inspiring others, learning to listen, listening to learn.
I present my clients with an arsenal of tools, techniques, insights and information that build trust, credibility and respect. Sound like I can help? Hope so.
